Firewall Test tool

ezFMD includes a Firewall Test tool in the package which assists detection of any firewall issues which may be prevent a PC or all PCs in a location (such as a hospital or pharmacy) accessing essential external services and so prevent the expected operation of ezFMD.

Once ezFMD has been installed on your PC, from the Start menu, expand (open) the ezFMD folder and select Firewall Test:

You will see a screen similar to this one (may slightly vary according to the version you have):

Depending on the screen size your are working with, you may need to scroll down within this window to see all the fields.

Press the Start button at the bottom. This should show a screen with the following fields updated:

If there are fields showing results in RED, the PC this is running on has an issue accessing these ports and this will need attention from the IT administrator of your firewall. If you can email IT support, it may be useful to first click on the Copy button at the bottom of the window and then paste this information into your email, as this will help the support person(s) identify where the errors are occurring and so hopefully shorten the time they need to fix the issue. The support person(s) may also benefit from access to the log data, using the Open Log button.

Once finished, click on the Exit button.
